Badminton Tournament #1 Event Recap

EDMONTON, AB (November 20th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the first ACAC Badminton tournament of the year. An exciting day for all new and returning players from Concordia, SAIT, King's University, and NAIT.

The day started off with Men's and Women's Singles. Johnna Rymes and Prabhleen Kaur, (CUE) lit up the court this afternoon and place 1st and 2nd. Rymes took the first-place position winning straight twos to the final. Kaur followed suit winning straight two's but losing to Johnna in the final (21-4, 21-8).

Women's Singles

In the Men's Singles, we saw Narayan Ramdhani (TKU) take the first-place position winning straight two's all the way to the final game to finish against Anirudh Sharma (NAIT) who earned the 2nd place position.

Moving to Doubles in the afternoon, Jasleen Kaur and Johnna Rymes from the Thunder took on the King's Eagles' Abby Ledda and Cecilia Wolski in the final match. CUE claims another 1st place position for the Women's Doubles, scoring 21-12 and 21-16.

In the Men's Doubles Sanskar Chopra and Justin Nguyen from the Trojans took on Brandon Gendre and Nam Nguyen from the Ooks for the final game. Each set came close at 21-20 and 21-18, with SAIT in 1st place.

To finish off the day, Concordia Thunder and King's University Eagles battle in the final game of the day. TKU players Narayan Ramhadni and Abby Ledda take first place against CUE's Johnathan Su and Jasleen Kaur, with scores ending 21-13 and 21-11.
