Gymnasium

The gymnasium at Concordia University of Edmonton is primarily used as an academic space hosting a variety of academic sporting classes. It is also the home of the Thunder Athletics. Three out of the Thunders Nine varsity athletics teams utilize the gymnasium on a daily basis for practices and collegiate competition. 

The students, faculty, and staff are able to use the gymnasium at their leisure when there are no bookings. There is a weekly schedule posted outside of the gymnasium for students to access. 

Rules and Regulations

Concordia University of Edmonton and the Thunder Department of Athletics & Recreation are committed to providing their Staff, Students, and Faculty with a safe and enjoyable place to be physically active. Please adhere to these rules and regulations to contribute positively to the Gymnasium.

To use this facility, you must:

• Be a current Student, Staff, or Faculty Member of Concordia University of Edmonton (you may be asked for Concordia ID)
• Wear appropriate footwear (no socks, bare feet, street shoes, and/or dirty footwear)
• Wear appropriate gym attire (no jeans)
• Return all equipment to their designated space
• Store all belongings in the change rooms

Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in loss of privileges from the facility.

By using this facility, you are accepting and assuming all responsibility and liability for injury, damages, or loss of any kind. Concordia University of Edmonton will not be held responsible for injury, harm, or damages caused while using the Gymnasium.

Change Rooms

The Gymnasium facility is equipped with a men's and women's change room for use by participants. Amenities include lockers, washrooms, and showers. 

The change rooms are only available during facility hours. Therefore the lockers are to be used as day use lockers while they are using the Fitness Centre or Gymnasium. The individual is to provide their own lock. If an individual chooses not to lock their belongings and something goes missing Concordia University of Edmonton is not responsible for any injury, damage or loss of any kind. Lockers are not to be used overnight or for the duration of the entire school year. Thunder Athletics and Recreation staff reserve the right to cut locks off of lockers that are not following these guidelines.
