Leonard Chesoo Commits to Thunder XC and Indoor Track

Leonard Chesoo will be joining the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder men’s cross country and indoor track team this fall.  Leonard  grew up in Iten, Kenya and will be studying sciences here at Concordia.

He has personal bests of 8:51 for 3000m and 14:47 for 5000m.  “I am excited to have Leonard joining us this fall.  With his credentials and most of our men returning this fall, our guys should be competitive and hopefully back into the top 3 at the ACAC championships with the hopes of returning to the CCAA national championships in November.  Leonard has the potential to break our school records over most distances from 1500m and up to 8k over the next 5 years” said Thunder head coach Matt Norminton.  “I look forward to working with him and watching him help lead team over the next few years”.  The Thunder XC team will open their season on September 8th, hosting the ACAC grand prix season opener in Goldstick Park.
