Concordia Thunder Men's Basketball History

 

Beginning in the 1999-00, the Concordia Thunder men’s basketball team has been one of the most success programs in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC). The men’s basketball program found early success – making the playoffs in only the third season in the ACAC that kickstarted 14 consecutive appearances at the ACAC Conference Championships. Overall, the Thunder have made the playoffs 20 times. The Thunder men’s basketball program has captured seven medals at the ACAC Conference Championships, produced 45 ACAC All-Conference Athletes and three CCAA All-Canadians: Ethan Sir (2011-12), Milos Prijovic (2012-13), and Ryan McLaren (2018-19). Current head coach Robbie Valpreda is in his first year with the program after spending over a decade as the head coach of CUE women's basketball. The two-time ACAC coach of the year is looking to continue building on the success of the men's program.
