Thunder Men’s Volleyball Struggles Against Northwestern Polytechnic at Home

The Concordia Thunder Men's Volleyball team faced a tough battle against the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves, ultimately falling 3-1 in sets. Despite a valiant effort, the Thunder couldn't secure the victory on their home court. Final scores of the match were 13-25, 25-23, 14-25, and 22-25.

Northwestern Polytechnic took an early lead in the opening set, showing strong attacks from players such as Logan Hladchuk, who contributed three kills in the set. Concordia responded fiercely in the second set, displaying an impressive offensive performance led by Kai Rosnau and Alexi Dufour. In the third set, Northwestern Polytechnic managed to secure the advantage thanks to the stellar play of Wolves setter Carter Tuttle, orchestrating the offence with 9 of his team leading 30 assists in the set. In the fourth set, the Thunder pushed back hard, but the Wolves sealed the win thanks to strong blocking from Logan Hladchuk and impressive kills from Kaden Bennett.

Standout performances from the Thunder include Alexi Dufour's remarkable 12 kills and setter Kai Rosau's impressive 28 assists, 16 digs, two blocks, and a service ace. Noah Michalczuk also contributed significantly with 11 kills for the Thunder.

The Thunder's next challenge awaits them in two weeks time at home, where they will face University of Alberta Augustana on Friday February 2nd. This will be the final home game of the regular season for the Thunder, as they will finish their season on the road. Concordia looks to bounce back and secure a win in their upcoming match.
