Vikings edge the Thunder in the 4th

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder took on the visiting Augustana Vikings in the first game of their back-to-back weekend series. The Thunder were able to create opportunities but it was the Vikings that walked away with the win.

The Thunder were able to take the first quarter 17-13, #3 Lacey Weddle lead the quarter after draining a 3 early on to set the tone. The Vikings were able to close the gap in the second by draining 4 more than the Thunder, ending the first half in a 31-31 tie game. After 3 quarters the Vikings were up by 1 and the pressure was on to capitalize on a powerful 4^th quarter. The Vikings ultimately out played the Thunder in the 4^th scoring 28 points to the Thunders 19, giving them the quarter and the win.

The Thunder and the Vikings will face off again tomorrow in Augustana to complete their weekend series. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Vikings was #5 Jessica Haenni and for the Thunder #9 Ann Ulmer.
