Strength and speed leads Thunder to the win

EDMONTON, AB (October 29th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted NWP Wolves for the second and final game of the weekend. A physical and defensive game allowed for opportunities that Thunder capitalized on, winning the match 84-47.

The first period had NWP heading to the line often with a couple of threes falling, Concordia took the early lead. The second quarter was evenly balanced with Concordia still maintaining the lead, a good mix of inside scoring and outside scoring with excellent transition passing showed Concordia up by 10 heading into halftime.

In the third, Concordia started out rebounding and outpacing NWP. Multiple offensive rebounds and lots of second chances points. Pushed the biggest lead so far of 29. The highest lead of the game came in the 4th Thunder ahead 41, firing on all cylinders. The Wolves began rallying late in the fourth, but not enough to come back. Thunder takes the second matchup of the weekend 84-47.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #6 Abby Crown who had 10 points for the Wolves and #9 Kaelyn Bryks with 24 points from the Thunder. The next home game for the Thunder takes place on November 11th, where they will battle Olds College Broncos!
