Last game of the season had the Thunder on the ropes against visiting Ooks

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder, played host in the last game of the regular season against visiting NAIT Ooks. The Thunder needed one point to solidify their second place finish, but were unable to do so, as the Ooks came out, took the lead early, and walked away with the win, with a score of 6-1.

The Ooks opened up the scoring in the 15th minute of play with an unassisted goal by #8 Yumi Ishimura. Both teams would remain off the goal sheet until the 34th minute where we saw a goal by the Ooks, then not a full minute later the lone Thunder goal was scored by #2 Elizabeth Crothers to make it a 2-1 game. Unfortunately, that would be the closest the Thunder would get to a comeback, as the Ooks went on a streak and scored 4 unanswered goals to solidify their win.

The Ooks will get a bye in their first round of the playoffs, and the Thunder will be playing Red Deer College who finished their season 8-2-2.
