The Thunder fall to the Ooks in 3 close sets

EDMONTON, AB – The Ooks came out swinging and took down the Thunder in three very close sets.

 

First set: 25-19

Second set: 25-22

Third set: 25-19

 

The powerful trio of #7 Karly Kupka, #12 Julia Donnelly, and #18 Hannah Gorgichuk combined for just shy of 30 kills, and #11 Lauren Smith was a defensive power house with 22 digs and was awarded the Big Kahuna Player Of The Game. This win elevates the Ooks record to 11-5 and keeps their winning streak alive at 6 games.

 

The Thunder have nothing to be ashamed about as they came close in all sets and put the pressure on the Ooks. #4 Julia Heupel lead the team in Kills and #16 Emma Derbyshire had a whopping 28 assists and was awarded the Big Kahuna Player Of The Game.

 

NAIT and Concordia will not be facing each other again this season, we'll have to get our revenge next season!
