EDMONTON, AB. – In a hard fought battle between your Concordia Thunder and King's Eagles, this game was decided in a 5th set. The Eagles came out swinging and took the first set 25-22, but your Thunder answered with 13 kills in the second to tie the game up 1 set to 1.
The 3rd set was won by the Eagle's and pushed the Thunder to a do or die situation in game 4. Luckily, the Thunder thrived on the pressure and came out on fire winning the 4th 25-18 pushing this game to a winner take all 5th and final set!
Midway through the 5th Shae McDonald went hard for the ball and had to leave the game due to a hamstring injury. The Thunder rallied and were able to win the 5th 15-10 to seal the victory.
The players of the game were #4 Julia Heupel contributing 17 kills for Concordia and #9 Avery Theune with a team leading 19 digs.
