Thunder extend winning streak against visiting Vikings

EDMONTON, AB – Tonight was the women's volleyball team last home game. Shandelle Meyer, Julia Heupel, Victoria Johnstone and Ryley Rizzoli played their last game suited up in the blue and gold.  Our seniors were properly sent off with a beautiful win against the visiting Augustana Vikings to extend their winning streak to 4 games.

All sets were won by two points and the final set ended in dramatic fashion. The first set went to extra points and your Thunder took a 1-0 set lead 28-26, offence was lead by #4 Julia Heupel, contributing 6 kills.

The second was won by your Thunder 25-23, but the Vikings responded with a 25-23 win in the 3^rd set to push this game to a 4^th (and potentially a 5^th set).

Shandelle was awarded player of the game and ended the final set with a kill set up by Rizzoli. The 4^th set was dominated by Meyer, contributing 8 digs and 3 kills, great way to end her Volleyball career with the Thunder!

The Thunder will travel to Augustana to extend their winning streak to 5 games and close out their season with their longest streak. We wish you all the best in tomorrows game and thank you seniors for being apart of the Concordia organization!
