On Friday night the Thunder came out strong in their first game of the weekend series against the Keyano Huskies earning their first victory of the year.
The Thunder offense was powered by #03 Kayla Whiteman Kyte, #09 Tianna Smith and #14 Tanielle Yacey who had a combined 27 kills. Avery Plandowski provided strong secondary support with 28 assist. Both Kayla and Tanielle provided support on both sides of the ball as they a combine 17 digs and 3 blocks.
The Huskies had strong offensive support from #15 Haley Field (8 kills) and #9 Mackenzie Stokes (20 assist) while on defense #11 Harlee Cameron and #8 Lauren Huntley had a combined 16 digs and 3 blocks.
The ACAC Players of the Game are # 09 Tianna Smith (7 Kills, 2 blocks) for the Thunder and #06 Lauren Huntley (6 kills, 8 digs, 2 blocks) for the Huskies.
The two teams will face each other again tomorrow afternoon at Concordia University of Edmonton (1:00PM).
