Thunder fall to visiting Rustlers

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder played host to the visiting Lakeland Rustlers. The Rustlers took the win and jumped over second place Augustana to sit alone in the second place spot. The Rustlers won 3 sets to 0 with a couple nail biting finishes that could have gone either way.

The Thunder fell behind early in the first and had to play catch up for most of the first set until the Rustlers hammered home the winning point. The Thunder were within 5 on each set and a couple points were in the hands of the Thunder, but they were unable to capitalize.

With hopes of avoiding a 3 and 0 sweep, the Thunder had the lead for most of the 3^rd, but a huge rally by the visiting team was too powerful for the Thunder to handle.

The big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Rustlers is # 6 Ahnika Kuse with a team high 11 kills and 9 digs, and for the Thunder was #3 Kayla Whiteman Kyte who contributed 11 kills and 5 digs.
