Thunder fall to Ooks in 4 sets

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder played host to the visiting NAIT Ooks. Today marks our last home game for the Thunder, we recognized our graduating players for their contribution to the ACAC. The Ooks walked away with the win, 3 sets to 1.

The Ooks took the first set in a close match that could have gone either way. Needing extra points, the Ooks squeezed out a win, getting 4 straight points to pass the Thunder and solidify their 2 point-win. The second match the Thunder seemed to be out matched, only scoring 10 points, but came back with vengeance in the 3rd set, where they held the Ooks to just 12 points.

In the 4th and final frame, the Ooks took and early lead and didn't let up on the gas. A 25-18 set win solidified their win and the Thunder are looking to tomorrow to even the score and walk away with a weekend series split, as they face off against the Ooks for the final time this season.

The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Ooks was #6 Vic Ringuette, and for the home team, #12 Megan Bieraugle.
