Thunder Announce Erinn Jacula As Women's Volleyball Head Coach

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder are excited to announce that Erinn Jacula will be joining the Women’s Volleyball program as the 5th Head Coach in program history. Jacula takes over from interim head coach Brandon Thompson, who coached the team for most of the 2018-19 season.

Prior to joining the Thunder, Jacula has spent previous seasons coaching with the Pandas Volleyball Club, Paul Kane High School (St. Albert), and the Wolves Volleyball Club at the high school/club level. She has also been an assistant coach in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) with the Thunder (2013-15) and Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) (2011-13) where she was a Female Apprentice Coach grant recipient under Ron Thompson. Jacula has extensive playing experience at the post-secondary level at Keyano College (2004-06), GPRC (2006-08), and the University of Alberta (2009-10) where she would be a part of a USports National Championship qualifying team.

“We are thrilled to have Erinn join the Thunder volleyball family and lead our program. She will, without a doubt, challenge, motivate, and inspire this group of young women to reach that next level of performance. I am confident in her abilities as a coach to bring an exciting, high tempo brand of volleyball for the players and spectators next season.” remarks Athletics Director Joel Mrak.

By profession, Jacula has been a physical education instructor in the Faculty of Education at CUE since 2014. She takes great pride in helping her students navigate their university careers by being a strong leader in the classroom and in the gymnasium. Jacula holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (specialization in sport performance) from the University of Alberta and a Master’s degree in Physical Education from Memorial University.
