Thunder come up short to the Wolves

EDMONTON, AB – In Friday night action, the Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the visiting Grand Prairie Regional College (GPRC) Wolves for game one of their two game weekend series. The game was a hard fought back and forth affair, with the Wolves hanging on to take the match 3-1.

The first set saw back and forth action, with both teams exchanging leads throughout the set. However, the Wolves held on to take the closely contested set 25-23. The second set saw the Wolves hang onto their momentum, leading from the beginning to the end of the set, and taking it 25-19. That momentum carried into the third set where the Wolves came out to an early lead. The Thunder came roaring back, however, to take the set 28-26 and force a fourth set. The final set saw much of the same back and forth action, but the Wolves pulled ahead and never looked back, taking the set 25-18 and finishing the game.

The Thunder and Wolves will close out their weekend series tomorrow with an afternoon matinee, and the Thunder hungry to even the score.

The Kahunaverse players of the game were for the Wolves #3 Megan Fowler, and for the Thunder #9 Tianna Smith!
