Thunder Win Big Over Ooks

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the NAIT Ooks in Saturday night action to close out their regular season. The Thunder started out strong and held off the NAIT rally as they won the match 3-1.

The first set saw Concordia jump out to an early lead, and they never looked back as they won convincingly 25-12. The Ooks bounced back, however, in the second set as they jumped out to an early lead of their own. The Thunder closed the gap, but were not able to over come the gap as NAIT took the second set 25-23. The Thunder roared back in the third set, however, as they followed the script from the first set and took a large lead early and never looked back as they cruised to a 25-16 set win. They carried this momentum into the fourth set as they once again cruised to a 25-11 win to take the match three sets to one.

This game closes out the weekend series between Concordia and NAIT, with both teams coming away with wins.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #4 Harley Patterson for the NAIT Ooks and for the Thunder #3 Kayla Whiteman Kyte and #9 Tianna Smith.
