Home Opener: Thunder Journey Begins

(EDMONTON, AB) Concordia Thunder (CUE) welcomed the Lakeland College Rustlers to kick off their 2023/24 season. The stage was set for an epic showdown against the Lakeland Rustlers. While the Rustlers emerged victorious, the Thunder displayed tremendous teamwork, passion, and the potential for an outstanding season ahead.

The match was a spectacle of fierce competition, with both teams giving it their all. The defending champions proved to be a tough opponent, securing the win with scores of 25-16, 25-23, and 25-20. Lana Matthews and Avery Bates led the Rustlers with 13 kills each, while Jana Laing's 30 assists orchestrated their efficient offense. Concordia Thunder shone in moments of inspiration, with Jolene Cooke and Kara McIntyre delivering impressive performances, each recording double-digit kills.
