Home Court Glory: Concordia Thunder Triumphs Over Northwestern Polytechnic with a Flawless Performance

For the second time in two days, the Concordia Thunder Women's Volleyball team displayed dominance on their home court, securing a commanding victory against the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves in three sets. The scores in each set were 25-18, 25-15, and 25-20.

In an impressive performance, the Thunder showcased their strength both offensively and defensively. Renae Regal orchestrated the offense brilliantly, amassing 28 assists, while Kara McIntyre and Emma Thompson led the attacking front with nine kills each. Jolene Cooke and Sydney Horyn were solid contributors, each providing crucial defensive plays with a combined total of 16 digs. Tanisha Cronin, the player of the game for the Thunder, had an impressive game on both sides of the ball with five digs, six kills, one service ace, and a block.

In the end, the Thunder secured a comfortable victory, maintaining a clean sweep over Northwestern Polytechnic in three sets. The win continues Concordia's great start to 2024, winning three of four matches coming off the winter break.

The Concordia Thunder Women's Volleyball team will play their next game at home, facing off against University of Alberta Augustana on Friday February 2nd. This will be the final home game of the regular season for the Thunder, as they will finish their season on the road. With this victory, their record stands at 6-9, holding on to fourth place in the ACAC North Division.
