Cheeso and Nawrocki are the Top ACAC Runners in the Running Room Grand Prix #3 - North Meet
Concordia University of Edmonton's Leonard Cheeso parlayed a strong final lap into a convincing victory at ACAC #3 -North – The Steve Burgess Memorial in Grande Prairie on Saturday. Cheeso stopped the clock at 25:13 for the hilly 8 km course in Muskoseepi Park.
The women's 6km race was won by the Running Room's Alecia Kallos. Concordia's Elise Nawrocki was the top ACAC runner, placing 4th in the race.
The host Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves were the top ACAC teams in both the men's and women's races.
Saturday's race allowed the ACAC athletes to preview the course that will hold the 2019 CCAA XC Running Championships. Next season's nationals will be hosted by GPRC on the November long weekend.
