Thunder XC Running & Indoor Track Program Announce Recruits for 2020-2021 Season

EDMONTON, AB – Thunder Athletics and the Cross Country Running and Indoor Track program are proud to welcome Brandon Toal and Faith Blanchette to Concordia University of Edmonton for the 2020-2021 season. Head coach Matthew Norminton is very excited to have these tremendous athletes as additions to the Thunder running program as they will have an immediate impact on the team.

Brandon competed for MacEwan University for 3 seasons.  He brings USports experience in Cross Country running to the Thunder and has several ACAC Indoor Track medals already to his name.  He's been training with the Running Room Athletic Club the past couple of years and had a really good indoor track season this past year as a club athlete.  Head Coach Matt Norminton and Thunder Running team will be excited to have Brandon on board to help lead the team to a team title this coming season!

Faith started running in grade 10 and that same year ended up in 1st place at the ASAA provincial championships for the 3000m event and placed 3rd in the 1500m. In grade 11, she took part in cross country running for the first time and placed 2nd at the ASAA provincial championships. In the outdoor track season, she ended up with 2nd and 3rd place finishes at the ASAA provincial championships. For her grade 12 year she moved to Grande Prairie to train with the college program and ended up 4th at XC provincial championships and also participated in the Canadian club nationals for XC running.  Faith is going to be a great addition to the Thunder women's team and will be a great fit during the current rebuild the team is transitioning through.

Thunder Athletics and the Cross Country Running and Indoor Track program are looking forward to welcoming these student athletes to campus this coming season.
