EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder kicked off the 2017-18 ACAC athletics year by hosting The King's University Eagles in Women's Soccer regular season action on Friday September 8.
The Thunder proved to be too much for Edmonton rivals from The King's University on a smoky Friday afternoon, outshooting the Eagles 45-1 en route to a 7-0 win. Thunder's 3rd year striker Jaida Stasiuk found the back of the net three times for the hat trick, while single markers were added by Shyanne Walton, Nicole Klepic, Bryanna Niehaus, and Emily Samycia.
The ACAC Players of the Game for the Eagles was #8 Natasha Steenhof and for the Thunder #17 Jaida Stasiuk.
Next up, the Thunder host the University of Alberta, Augustana Vikings on Sunday Septmeber 10 at 12:00 Noon, while The King's University Eagles will host their home opener against NAIT on Saturday September 16 at 12:00 Noon.
