A strong offensive game leads Thunder to a 5-1 victory against the Ooks

EDMONTON, AB (September 18th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the NAIT Ooks this Sunday afternoon for a battle of Edmonton. A strong offense and some key saves lead to the Thunder taking a 5-1 win.

#10 Breanna Callander put the Thunder on the board in the 13th minute to give Concordia a 1-0 lead. Shortly after we saw #9 Makkayla Agar come to life scoring back-to-back goals in the 30th and 40th minute giving the Thunder a 3-0 lead. #7 Madison Gamache added to the board in the 47th minute giving the Thunder some more breathing room. The NAIT Ooks battled back hard and in the second half adding to the board was #6 Lamisi Sirett making it 4-1. Concordia responded quickly #9 Makkayla Agar makes it 5-1, for her third goal of the game and ended in a 5-1 decision for the Thunder.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #6 Lamisi Sirett for the NAIT Ooks and #9, Makkayla Agar, from your Concordia Thunder. The next home game for the Thunder will be Saturday, October 1st, where they will gear up to verse the Keyano Huskies.
