Thunder team growth shows – Smart plays bring home the win

Thunder team growth shows – Smart plays bring home the win

EDMONTON, AB (October 15th 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the Lakeland Rustlers for the Saturday battle.

Thunder played a tight game as we rarely saw Rustlers able to break into the defensive zone. With the team making good decisions in the neutral zone they showed patience and grit. #3 Danae Michie put Thunder on the board in the first 5 minutes of play. The score remained 1-0 at the half despite great opportunities. We witnessed #10 Breanna Callander take it to the next level in the offensive zone scoring two goals at the 49th and 70th minute, widening the gap 3-0. #18 Caylie Rich sealed the deal in the 71st minute of the game ending in a 4-0 win for the Thunder.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #6 Mia Agriotis for the Rustlers and #13 Amy Fayant from your Concordia Thunder. The next home game for the Thunder is tomorrow afternoon where they will take on the Kings' Eagles.
