EDMONTON AB - This years season opener was a toe to toe match between the Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder and the visiting NAIT Ooks. After the summer break, both teams seemed eager to get back out there and start their season off strong.
The Ooks opened up the scoring with a penalty kick goal late in the first to walk into the change room at half time up 1-0. The Thunder quickly respond following the opening second half whistle and held the tie for a few minutes before the Ooks broke ahead once again. The Thunder played catch up for the remainder of the game and although they had some fantastic attempts, they were unable to capitalize and even the game out.
The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Ooks was #7 Marissa Webb, and for the Thunder was #5 Paige Martin.
