Edmonton AB – Concordia Thunder hosted The Kings Eagles under the lights at Clareview Community Recreation Center. Temperatures were nearing freezing in this back and forth battle that ended in a 2-2 tie. Both goalies saw their fair share of action by turning away over 7 shots a side.
The Eagles drew first blood just 3 minutes into play with a one-time boot by #5 John de-Mendoza, but it would be the only lead the Eagles had in the 95:00 minutes of play. Concordia struck twice in the first ending the half up by 1.Early in the second half the Eagles tied it up and although Concordia applied pressure in the dying 5 minutes of play, cycling the ball in the attacking zone, they were unable to sneak one past the keeper for the win.
This tie leaves both teams in the same spot in the standings, the Eagles are one point ahead of the Thunder for second place in the North. The Thunder are back in action tomorrow afternoon against the Augustana Vikings at 3:00PM at Clareview Field. The Eagles will be playing Augustana on Wednesday evening for a re-scheduled match. Two very important game for Concordia and Kings!
