Thunder Women's Volleyball 2024/25 Season Preview

Thunder Women's Volleyball 2024/25 Season Preview

A new Thunder Women’s Volleyball season is upon us with new faces and new expectations. The team has a brand new coaching staff, with Kerrie Buchberger leading the charge and building a solid foundation for a group with loads of talent. “I’m very excited to be a part of the Concordia Thunder team,” Buchberger commented. “I’m looking forward to working with these amazing young ladies and seeing what we can accomplish in our first year together and beyond.”

This team is young, with half of them being in their first or second year of collegiate play. Look for fourth year players Sydney Horyn, Justine May, and Emma Thompson to lead this group and help set the identity of this team. Last year's group fell just short of the playoffs, being eliminated via tiebreaker. This year, they have their eyes set on improving their record and getting back into the postseason.

“We have a really young team that works incredibly hard,” Horyn added. “I think we’re going to be a gritty team this year that is ready to compete against any opponent. We’re changing our culture, adding a new head coach and many talented recruits. I’m excited to see what this year brings.”

Women’s Volleyball opens their season with back-to-back games against The King’s University Eagles. First game of the year is Friday October 25th on the road, followed by their home opener on Saturday October 26th.
