In 2013, The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder Athletics Department created the “Bring The Thunder” Adopt-An-Athlete program as part of our commitment to not just building better athletes, but building the leaders of tomorrow. Depending on the sport, our student-athletes dedicate approximately 15-30 hours a week to training, to participating in weekend competitions, as well as actively volunteering in the community to proudly representing the blue and gold. Between school, studying, training, competing, volunteering, and sleeping, there is not a lot of time left for part-time jobs to offset the costs of attending University. Your generous contribution helps continue the legacy of excellence in both academics and athletics for our student-athletes. To date, the “Bring The Thunder” Adopt-An-Athlete program has raised more than $100,000 in financial support of the Thunder teams.

How do I send in my contribution?

For all donors contributing by cash or cheque, please fill out the Adopt-an-Athlete Form. Once the form has been filled out, please mail or deliver the completed form along with payment information to:

What is the “Bring The Thunder” Adopt-An-Athlete Program?

The goal of the “Bring The Thunder” Adopt-An-Athlete Program is to help provide financial assistance to the Thunder student-athletes through contributions by alumni, family, friends and community business partners. This program provides a unique opportunity for our athletes to go out and raise money to support their team and continue on in a tradition of sport excellence in Thunder athletics.

What do you receive for your generous contribution?

All “Bring the Thunder” Adopt-an-Athlete donors will be recognized in the University’s various publications where donors are recognized, and a charitable tax receipt will be issued (for donations over $25). Your donation will provide support to the sport of your choice (without any express or implicit conditions, and without any right, privileges or personal benefit) and can be indicated on the “Bring The Thunder” Adopt-an-Athlete form.
