Thunder took the W in home opener

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder played host to the visiting Augustana Vikings in this back to back series opener. The Thunder close off the series, capturing the win to go up two points on the Vikings.

The Thunder started strong and never gave up the lead throughout the game, although this game did have its fair share of dramatics. Both teams had a difficult time avoiding fouls, racking up a combined 43.

The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the Vikings was #21 Nathan Bowie, who contributed 10 points for the Vikings, and for the Thunder #9 Ryan McLaren, who contributed 32 and went 13/14 free throws.

The next time these two teams face off won't be until the end of January.
