Thunder Regroups Offensively and Finish Ahead

EDMONTON, AB (November 25, 2022) - Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the King's Eagles in a Friday night battle. The lead went back and forth throughout the first three quarters, but CUE came back with their entire lineup contributing to the board and securing the win 92-73.

In the first quarter, both teams played with high energy and things seemed pretty evenly matched. The Thunder leads the Eagles 26-16 at the end of the first. In the second quarter, Thunder in some foul trouble gave open opportunities for TKU. The Eagles had everything going for them for the last six minutes of the half. They bring it within one with an incredible half-court shot by #10 Logan Den Oudsten to beat the halftime buzzer. 41-40. The third quarter was action-packed as both teams fought to the paint. We saw constant back-and-forth action, multiple ties, and lead changes. The Thunder with a slight edge at the end 67-64. In the final quarter, Thunder was eager to fight back and ensure the game was theirs. With each line contributing, they landed key shots. Late in the game, the Thunder gain a 22-point lead and steal the win to finish the game 92-73. Head Coach Reagan Wood comments "A nice win for us against a good up-and-coming Kings' squad. We needed contributions from a lot of guys and we got that with 6 in double figures scoring-wise. We found ways to get key stops in the 4th quarter that helped secure the win."

The One Team Sport players of the game were #0 Anthony Tamburrino from the Eagles, and #10 Kaleb DeKlerk from your Thunder contributing 17 points to the board.

Concordia Men's Basketball team finished strong in their last home game of the semester. Thunder plays the Eagles for what will be an exciting matchup, tomorrow evening at 8 PM at Kings' University. We return home in the New Year on January 14th against the Augustana Vikings.
