Thunder defense carries them to a win

EDMONTON, AB (October 28th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) - To open the regular season Concordia hosted the Friday evening game against the NWP Wolves. The first period had most of the points in the paint with some midrange and 3P shooting. Concordia took the first period 17-12 due to their ability to pass while in transition. The second quarter had it all, Thunder with lights out outside shooting including a three-point buzzer beater into half. The Wolves showed strong ball handling, going to the line often, and even an amazing putback dunk in the final moments of the half. The score was 37-25.

The third quarter was back and forth, Concordia kept their lead using the same bag of tricks as before, NWP added some outside scoring to the game log, the score 58-48. The fourth quarter was fast paced with not much scoring early on, but the Thunder managed to outpace the Wolves to win 78-59.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #5 Mohab Milad for the Wolves with 22 points in the night and #7 Yaadvir Dhaliwal with 28 points and 9 rebounds from the Thunder. Concordia will host NWP tomorrow afternoon for game two of the weekend.
