Thunder keep the wins coming with their 17th of the season

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) faced off against the visiting NAIT Ooks in game two of their back-to-back weekend series. The Thunder took down the Ooks to help solidify their first place position and pull away from the rest of the pack. The final score was 94-86 for the Thunder.

The Thunder started off the game with a big 3-pointer from #4 Lucas Turchet and didn't give up the lead once in this match. The Thunder outscored the Ooks in the first half by a score of 47-32, but the Ooks managed to fight back in the 3rd quarter, to cut the lead to 10 going into the 4th quarter. The Thunder, however had a different game plan and came out for the 4th quarter on a rampage, scoring 28 points.

This win gives the Thunder a 17-3 record and drops the Ooks to a 8-10 record. The Ooks are battling for a playoff spot and needed the win to edge Lakeland for the 4th and final playoff spot. Next weekend the Ooks will be taking on GPRC Wolves and the Thunder will be taking on Keyano Huskies. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Ooks was #8 Jamal Hinds and for the Thunder #9 Ryan McLaren.
