Men's Basketball Announce Recruit Class for 2019-2020 Season

Men's Basketball Announce Recruit Class for 2019-2020 Season

Following a successful 2018-19 season in which the Thunder went 20-4 and won the silver medal at the 2019 ACAC Men's Basketball Championship, Coach Reagan Wood is proud to announce the recruiting class for the 2019-20 season.

"Every year brings exciting new possibilities to our team.  I am very encouraged about what this years' recruiting class will bring to the team.  We're adding a little bit of everything - size, shooting, speed, toughness - all things we need more of to continue to pursue our goal of an ACAC and CCAA Championship."

Jacob Perkins
6'9 C/PF
Edmonds, WA
Shoreline CC

Jacob brings a great blend of size and skill to the Thunder.  He was a key contributor on a Shoreline CC team that finished 1st in the NWAC North in 2016-17.  Jacob averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds a game while shooting 51% from the floor. "I'm very excited to have Jacob joining our team.  He gives us a lot of things that we need - size, strength, rebounding, rim protection and efficient scoring. I know he will make an immediate impact in the ACAC" - Coach Wood

Courage Sorinolu
6'4 SF/PF
Edmonton, AB
Strathcona High School

Courage is one of the most physically imposing high school players in Edmonton.  His strength and work ethic made him very tough to handle on a nightly basis. "Courage is someone who i've had the privilege to coach before on Team Alberta.  I know he will bring a tremendous effort and high level of character to our team" - Coach Wood

Alex MacLean
6'6 SF/PF
Leduc, AB
Leduc Composite High School

Alex averaged 20 points and 8 rebounds a game for the Leduc Tigers this past year and brings nice range and size to the Thunder. "Alex has all the tools to be a great college player and I am excited to have him join us at CUE.  I know he will work tirelessly to continue to improve and make an impact sooner than later" - Coach Wood

Isaiah Nuako
6'4 SF/PF
Sherwood Park, AB
Edmonton Christian

Isaiah helped the Edmonton Christian Lions to a great season and challenged much bigger schools night in and night out. "Isaiah is another athlete I have coached before and have seen do some outstanding things on the court. I look forward to working with him again." - Coach Wood

Ameer Dhillon
6'0 PG/SG
Prince George, BC
Prince George Secondary

Ameer is a two-time North Central BC All Star and Top Defensive Player in the region as well. "Ameer choosing CUE makes me very happy.  He has the drive to be a great player and I know that will lead him to continue to develop and no doubt be an important player for us very soon" - Coach Wood

Henry Bankazo
6'0 PG/SG
Kingston, ON
St. Mary's High

Henry brings a veteran presence to the Thunder after playing at MHC and RDC in the past.  He's a proven ACAC contributor. "Henry will bring a bit of everything to our team.  He can score, create and defend.  All things that will be a huge asset to our team" - Coach Wood

Thunder Athletics and the men's basketball program are looking forward welcoming these student athletes to Concordia University of Edmonton in the fall.
