Concordia's Comeback Cut Short: Red Deer Polytechnic Secures Road Victory

(EDMONTON, AB) In an intense game at Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE), the Red Deer Polytechnic Kings emerged victorious with a narrow 87-83 win. The game showcased exceptional performances from both teams, each fighting relentlessly for control and dominance.

The first quarter saw Red Deer establishing an early lead with a score of 33-21. Efe Iyamu displayed impressive shooting, contributing significantly to the visitor's offensive success with 28 points in the game. The Thunder faced a tough challenge but managed to regroup in the second quarter, outscoring the Kings 28-21. Yaadvir Dhaliwal led the charge for the home team, showcasing remarkable scoring, leading the team with 22 points in the match.

The third quarter became a pivotal moment for Concordia, as they surged ahead with a 24-15 advantage. Mirza Todorovac's sharpshooting from beyond the arc played a crucial role in narrowing the gap, shooting 4-6 from three. By the end of the third quarter, the Thunder managed to grab the lead with a tight score of 73-69.

The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading blows. Deandre Rowe's consistent performance for the Kings and the Thunder's collective effort kept the game close right until the final buzzer. In the end, Red Deer secured the victory with a final score of 87-83.

CUE now gets ready to travel to Olds College tomorrow afternoon for their final game of 2023. Their next home game is scheduled against The King's University on January 13th at the Ralph King Athletic Centre. After this game, their current record stands at 4-5.
