EDMONTON, AB. – What a game. Both the Concordia Thunder and King's Eagles came out to play. This back and forth match went the distance and the Eagles ended up flying away with the win.
The first 4 sets were won by a margin of just 4 points or less, thanks to phenomenal defense by both teams, having 4+ players with over 10 digs. The first set was won by the Thunder 25-21, the second set was taken by the Eagles 25-23, the 3rd set was won by the Thunder 25-21 and the 4th set to push it to a 5 set game was won by a whopping 29-27.
The 5th set was won by minor errors and great offensive power by the Eagles, they took the lead early and didn't let the Thunder catch a breath.
The players of the game was awarded to #3 Ryan Teliske who contributed 12 kills and 16 digs for Concordia and #15 Brendan Vanderlinde who helped make his team victorious by contributing 14 kills and 17 digs.
