Thunder Falls to Men’s North Leaders

Thunder Falls to Men’s North Leaders

EDMONTON, AB (January 27th, 2023) - Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the NAIT Ooks for a Friday night battle of Edmonton. The game was fast-paced and full of strength and power. We saw some amazing rallies between the two teams, but ultimately the Ooks were able to walk away with a win 3-0.

In the first set, the Thunder proved their ability to go toe to toe with the top of the league. The Ooks find their footing and bring an eight point lead late into the set and keep bringing pressure despite the Thunder late rally, the Ooks win 25-17.The second set was similar to the first. The Ooks and Thunder were tied at seven until the Ooks created some separation and lead the set as big as seven. And again, the Thunder rally late to try to stay in it but the Ooks will win the second set 25-19.The Thunder down two sets to none. They hold on longer this time around as it was tied at nine a piece. The biggest lead the Ooks amount in the set is five but it's provided by an unusual amount of service errors for the Thunder. The Thunder fought hard but couldn't quite come back and the Ooks win 25-20.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #5 Carter Hills from the Ooks, with 10 kills and 5 digs in the game. From the Thunder, #16 Rhees Moss with 21 assists and 2 digs. The next home game for the Concordia Thunder will be against the Lakeland Rustlers on February 4th at 6PM.
