Thunder Falls to the Eagles

Thunder Falls to the Eagles

EDMONTON, AB (November 26, 2022) - Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the King's Eagles for a Saturday night clash. In their final game before the break, we saw close scores throughout each set. Thunder was able to push it to a 4th set but Eagles ultimately came back to win 3-1.

The first set each team came out strong and the set was evenly matched. The Thunder find a three-point lead midway through the set, but the Eagles spread their wings and claim the win after a number of great plays, 25-21.

The second set was back and forth again. Neither team with a big lead up until the last 8 points of the set where the Eagles will lead up to 9. The Eagles take the set 25-18 and push their lead 2-0. In the third set, the Thunder grew hungry. They hold on and bring back the energy they had in the first and take the third set 25-22. The Eagles lead 2-1 and the game continues to a 4th set. In the fourth set, the Eagles came out with high energy. With multiple smart plays, the Eagles fight back to finish the game and win the set 25-18 and the game 3-1.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #16 Brenan Kuffert from the Eagles and #11 Carson Hillburn from your Concordia Thunder. Tonight's game concludes Thunder's home schedule for the fall semester. We return back from the break on January 13th at 8PM against the Red Deer Kings to kick off 2023.
