Thunder defeat visiting Eagles with strong second half finish

EDMONTON AB – This Friday the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder took on the visiting Kings University. The Thunder defended their .500 record and defeated the Kings 65-57 to put them within 6 points back from the top spot.

The lead switched over it seemed like every couple minutes, both teams were neck and neck, neither team was able to break away by more than half a dozen points. The first half ended with the Thunder up by 2 points, but had either team capitalized on a few missed opportunities, the score could have been flipped.

The Thunder came out on fire and outscored the Kings in the 3rd and 4th quarter, the Thunder was lead offensively by #3 Lacey Weddle who put up 16 points and lead the Thunder with time on court with 33 minutes of play.

The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the Thunder was #4 Olivia Armstrong who lead the game in assists and #21 for the Eagles Gaddiel Kamuanya Tshiunza. The Eagles and the Thunder will face off again tomorrow on the Eagles turf.
