Thunder continue on a 5 game win streak

EDMONTON, AB (November 11th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the Olds' Broncos' for a Friday night match. Thunder pushed hard and finish off the game with a win, continuing their season with a 5-game-win streak.

In the first quarter we saw a couple of threes drop. Olds' College Broncos capitalized on their transitions for many of their first-quarter points, but the Thunder held strong and gained the upper hand with second-chance opportunities. The second quarter had the Broncos mostly scoring from mid-range while the thunder continues to grab offensive rebounds for more second-chance points and use their height to their advantage. Thunder led 33-19 at the half. The third quarter was slow with multiple steals on both teams. Concordia will outscore the Broncos 12-11 as the Broncos find some shots landing for them. The fourth and final quarter will push the tempo with lots of scoring on both sides and scoring in every way possible, with threes, midrange, and layups adding to the scoreboard. This quarter we also saw Broncos finding more rebounds going their way. Ultimately the height advantage for the Thunder will win them the game 67-52.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #12 Meghan Swartz with 5 rebounds this evening and #11 Rachel Harvey with 20 points. The next home game for the Thunder takes place on November 18th against the Ambrose Lions.
