Thunder take down Wolves in game one of the weekend series

EDMONTON AB – In tonight's game the Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) hosted the visiting Grand Prairie Regional College (GPRC). Grand Prairie was looking for their first win, while the Thunder pulled ahead in the standings to tie for second place. The Thunder beat the Wolves 79-56.

The Thunder started strong and dominated the first quarter and putting pressure on the Wolves defence by racking up 18 points to the Wolves 6. The second quarter the wolves turned on the jets and outscored the Thunder 19-16 to end the half with a score of 34-25. The Thunder came out after the half and put up 27 points in the 3^rd to solidify and complete the win.

The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Wolves was #11 Britney Peters who lead the Wolves in baskets with 19 points and for the Thunder #13 Danielle MacLellan who contributed a team high 17 points.

The Wolves and Thunder will meet again tomorrow in their home and home series.
