Thunder keep playoff hopes alive with big win over Huskies

Thunder keep playoff hopes alive with big win over Huskies

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder took on the visiting Keyano Huskies to finish off their weekend series. The Thunder are in a do-or-die situation, needing these points to keep their playoff hope alive. This win boosted them into a 4 way tie for second place, they'll need to have a strong season finish against The Kings University on February 22/23. The Thunder took down the Huskies 68-64.

The Thunder and the Huskies both had a strong first half, the Huskies outscoring the Thunder in the first half, but the Thunder answered right back, outscoring the Huskies in the second. The first half ended in favour of the Thunder by one point, 35-34. The second half was just as dramatic as the first, the Thunder were able to hang on to their lead for the whole half, but at times the Huskies got mighty close, especially in the dying minutes.

The Thunder will be having their buy week next week, while the Huskies will be taking on UAA Vikings. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the visiting Huskies is #8 Aliyah Johnson and the Thunder was #13 Danielle MacLellan.
