Thunder with a huge win against the Eagles

Thunder with a huge win against the Eagles

EDMONTON AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder were fighting for a playoff spot in their last game of the season as they hosted the King's University Eagles. The Thunder started off a little slow, as the nerves of the importance of the game may have come in to play, but they finished the game with the win by a score of 77-61.

The Eagles took the lead in the first and ended the quarter being up with a score of 15-9, and after outscoring the Thunder in the second quarter, the Thunder fell behind by a score of 32-22. Coach Robbie Valpreda must have said some motivating words in the dressing room, as the Thunder came out after the half on fire. Outscoring the Eagles by 10 points in the 3rd and dropping the hammer in the 4th by outscoring the Eagles by 16 points.

This was the last game of the season for both teams and the Eagles finished off their season with a record of 5-19 and the Thunder finished off their season with a record of 15-9 which resulted in a 3-way tie for 3rd place. The Big Kahuna Player of the Game for the Eagles was #6 Kenna Jacobson and for the Thunder was #8 Sophia Lucadello.
