Thunder fall to the Rustlers in Saturday night action

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the Lakeland College Rustlers Saturday night in women's basketball action. The Rustlers started the game strong, and didn't look back, as they won over the Thunder 65-57.

The Rustlers opened the game up on fire, and took command of the game early as they lead the Thunder 20-9 after the first quarter. The Thunder bounced back in the second quarter, but the Rustlers matched their efforts and maintained their league as they took a 37-24 lead into the half. The third quarter saw the Thunder step up their defensive efforts, holding the Rustlers to only 9 points. However, the Rustlers still took a 46-37 into the fourth quarter. The Thunder again stepped up their efforts in the fourth quarter, but couldn't close the gap as the Rustlers ended up winning the game by a 65-57 final.

This concludes this weekend's series between the Thunder and Rustlers, with the Rustlers taking both games. These two teams will meet again in February with the Thunder looking to bounce back.

The Kahunaverse players of the game were #5 Tori Dugan for the Rustlers, and #9 Ann Ulmer for the Thunder.
