EDMONTON, AB (September 11th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder opened their home schedule with a Sunday afternoon clash against the Keyano Huskies. A tight game to start the Thunder took over in the second half and took a 3-0 win.
The first half started with back and forth action. Both defenses locked play down to keep the first half scoreless. The second half, however, saw the Thunder come out firing, number #4 Vanessa Pietramala broke through in the 47th minute to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead. The Thunder added to their lead in the 65th minute when number 10 Breanna Callander scored to give Concordia a 2-0 lead. Pietramala would score again in the 83rd minute to make it 3-0 which was the final score.
The One Team Sport players of the game were #21 Madison Tyson and #10 Breanna Callander. The Thunder return home next Sunday when they welcome the NAIT Ooks.
