Concordia Thunder Prevails in Intense Showdown Against NAIT Ooks

Concordia Thunder Prevails in Intense Showdown Against NAIT Ooks
(EDMONTON, AB) In a thrilling basketball game at Concordia University, the Thunder emerged victorious, defeating the NAIT Ooks with a final score of 75-69.

The Concordia Thunder got off to a strong start, dominating the first quarter with excellent ball movement and accurate shooting. Yaadvir Dhaliwal (#7) and Milton Lendein (#12) led the charge, securing crucial points for Concordia. NAIT Ooks, however, fought back in the second quarter, narrowing the lead with resilient defense and impressive three-point shooting from Griffin Lorenz (#1).

The second half witnessed a tight battle between both teams. Concordia's defense, led by Kyler Dutka (#18) and Alex MacLean (#14), thwarted NAIT's attempts to take control with multiple offensive and defensive rebounds. In the final moments, the Thunder's resilience prevailed, holding off the Ooks and securing their victory.

Head Coach Reagan Wood commented "We had to battle tonight against a gritty NAIT team that never let us push a lead. They do a lot of good things that made it tough on us but we found our way through for a win. Proud of the guys for making smart decisions in key moments down the stretch. We'll need to make some adjustments and be better heading into the rematch tomorrow night."

The One Team Sport players of the game, presented by Co-operators, were #1 Griffin Lorenz for NAIT and #12 Milton Lendein for Concordia.

After this game, the Thunder's record stands at 3-0 for the season. The Thunder will be back at home next week on October 27th as they take on Keyano College at 8pm.
