Kings Defeat Thunder in a Tough Loss at Home

EDMONTON, AB - After a tough loss on Friday night in Red Deer, the Thunder would host the Kings in a high scoring contest which resulted in a 5-4 loss. 

Both goalies had a fair share of action between the pipes as # 36 Troy Trombley (RDC) faced 38 shots while #35 Tanner McCorriston(CUE) faced 36 shots. 

The Kings opened scoring early on in the first period with a goal from #43 Tyler Berkholtz. The Kings offense continued to press as #88 Lynnden Pastachak added another goal to put the Kings up by two. With 5:27 remaining in the first period Thunders #37 Phil Dillon put Concordia on the board and would head into the locker room down by one. 

The Thunder came out buzzing in the second period with two quick goals from #02 Scott Allan and #18 Chance Thomas to give the Thunder a 3-2 lead. The Kings responded minutes later with a goal from #13 Dylan Thudium and would add another from #09 Jacob Wozney to retake the lead 4-3 heading into the third period. 

Thunders #23 Rory Davidson would open scoring in the period to tie the game at four early in the third. Kings #13 Dylan Thudium would add his second goal of the game to retake the lead midway through the period.

Concordia added an extra attacker with just over a minute left to play however they were unable to capitalize. The final score was Kings 5 Thunder 4. The players of the game were #23 Rory Davidson (1 G) for Concordia and #13 Dylan Thudium (2 G) for Red Deer. 

The Thunder(4-11-1) will play the SAIT Trojans (9-5-1) in a home-and-home series beginning on Friday night here in Edmonton (8:15PM).
