A high-tension game, Trojans walk away with the win

EDMONTON, AB (November 4th, 2022) – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder take on the SAIT Trojans in this weekend's battle.

Thunder open the game aggressively crashing the net and taking several shots. With tensions high right off the bat, Thunder push hard on counterattacks but resulted in a goal from a deflection. Thunder continues to dominate puck possession but Trojans fight back and find their second goal making it 2-0 within the first 10 minutes of play. Concordia continued to push and put one in the back of the net, a hard-earned goal. Trojans found opportunities in the first and pushed offensively ending the first period 3-1. The game continued at a fast pace in the second, SAIT scored another 2 goals one minute apart. Thunder didn't let up and continued to push and tensions continued to rise after the Thunder goaltender's injury. Concordia doesn't let up and scores with two minutes left in the 2nd (5-2). The 3rd period had Thunder playing strong offensively with lots of shots on net, they catch a break and put another on the board with 11 minutes left to play. Concordia took a penalty for too many men and SAIT capitalized, making the score 6-3. SAIT sealed the deal and scored with 7 minutes left to play, ending the game at 7-3 for the Trojans.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #12 Brent Trentham from the Trojans and #27 Tyler Schendel from the Thunder. The next home game for the Thunder is on November 11th where they will take on the Portage Voyageurs.
