Thunder face a fury of shots and fall 6-2 to the visiting NAIT Ooks

Thunder face a fury of shots and fall 6-2 to the visiting NAIT Ooks

EDMONTON, AB – Today's game was special because the week leading up Concordia was #MakeSomeNoise for Mental Health. In spirit of the week, we tried to help reduce the stigma associated with Mental Health, held special promotions and gave away pamphlets and t-shirts with helplines and guidelines should you or a loved one be in need of some support. The minor officials came out wearing #MakeSomeNoise shirts to help get the crowd involved.

The puck dropped at 8:20 and the scoring opened up just under 4 minutes into the first by NAIT's #9 Isaac Farrah to take a 1-0 lead. Shortly after Nait's Devon McAndrews buried his first of the game to give the Ooks a 2-0 lead going into the second.

The Ooks came out hot and lit the lamp with 3 goals in just over 5 minutes of play, by the end of the period, NAIT was up 6-0 and the Thunder responded with goalie change to Garrett Storm.

Storm had a perfect save %, but the damage had already been done. Concordia scored 2 late 3rd period goals, giving NAIT the 6-2 win.
