Thunder get taken down by visiting Vikings

EDMONTON, AB – Losses are never easy, but the sting is a little more apparent when it's the last home game of the season. The Augustana Vikings came out strong and scored two quick goals early in the first and the Thunder were playing catch up for the rest of the game.

With the clock winding down in the first #21 Tyler Benko buried Concordia's first goal and to cut the lead in half going into the second period. Augustana answered with a 3rd goal less than 5 minutes into the second period. The Thunder responded with a huge PowerPlay goal a few minutes later and it looked like Concordia was going to start rallying back. Unfortunately, the Vikings scored 3 unanswered goals to close out the second period.

The game ended with a score of 6-3 for the visiting Vikings. Your Thunder will have a shot at redemption when they travel to the Vikings turf tomorrow night and hope to close off the season on a high note.

The player of the game for your Thunder was graduating player #4 Connor Reinson and for the Vikings, #4 Joe Tambasco.
