Ooks take down Thunder 5-2

Ooks take down Thunder 5-2

EDMONTON AB – Concordia University of Edmonton faced off tonight against the visiting NAIT Ooks, this will be the first time they meet this season for their Home-Home series. Concordia needs to improve their record if they want to compete for a playoff spot. The Ooks are 3-3, which is good enough for 4th place, 6 points behind first place Red Deer. In this back and forth battle the Ooks took the lead in the first and although the Thunder were on their heels, they never gave up the lead and walked away with a 5-2 victory.

The Ooks potted their first goal midway through the first and the Thunder came out early in the second with a goal by #11 Ian Mclellan to tie it up at 1. The Ooks answered back with a game high 25 shots against #31 Sam Jaxon Vischer, ending the period in the same situation as they came out, up by 1.

The Thunder kept the game interesting with a late goal in the 3rd and playing the majority of the last 5 minutes in the attacking zone. The Thunder will get their chance at redemption tomorrow at NAIT's home arena.
